Fitness recipe: Gluten-free vegan buns with Chlorella

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 250 ml of water
  • 230 g quinoa
  • 70 g coconut flour
  • 60 g chia seeds
  • 20 g powder or 40 Chlorella tablets
  • 15 ml coconut oil
  • 1-2 TS salts
  • 1 TS soda bicarbonates
  • juice from 1/2 lemon

Preparation:

Place the quinoa in a bowl the day before preparing the buns, pour it all over with water and leave it soaked overnight. The next day, strain the quinoa and wash under running cold water. Then soak the chia seeds in 125 ml of water, mix well and leave to settle until a dense gel-like mixture is formed.

Add 125 ml of water, coconut oil, lemon juice, salt, bicarbonate, prepared Chlorella powder to the quinoa and mix everything together. If you do not have powdered Chlorella, never mind, the fine powder can also be crushed Chlorella tablets in a coffee grinder or in an ordinary blender. Then add the resulting chia seed gel and coconut flour and mix until a dough is formed.

Divide the dough into 5 equal parts, shape them into balls and place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180° C and bake the formed buns for 50 minutes to 1 hour as needed. Whether the buns are well baked can be tested by using a toothpick, which is injected into the middle of the dough. If the dough does not stick to the toothpick, the buns are ready. Serve them clean, with humus or as a side dish to light salads. Enjoy their delicious taste!
