Massage Guns

Massage Guns are innovative tools for full-body self-massage. They transmit vibrations to the muscles and fascia, helping to release tension, reduce stiffness, and improve blood circulation. You'll appreciate this after a demanding workout as part of recovery, but also anytime you feel stiffness in your body. However, massage guns are also used in everyday practice by coaches, massage therapists, or physiotherapists.

You can choose from various sizes of devices, where you can also adjust the intensity and change different attachments. They are compact, and thanks to their practical carrying cases, you can take them with you to the gym or even on holiday.

Why use massage guns?

Using a massage gun promotes blood circulation in the targeted area, which you'll appreciate, especially before a workout. This allows for more oxygen and nutrients to reach the muscles during exercise, which can lead to better performance and, to some extent, reduced risk of injury. After exercising, massaging the specific area can support recovery and relaxation by releasing tension in the worked muscles.

A foam roller is often used to massage stiff muscle knots, also known as trigger points, In many cases, their activation can significantly relieve pain, stiffness, and muscle tension. Moreover, massage guns are useful for self-massage of the fascia. However, these tools aren't designed just for athletes. They are also useful for people who need to relax muscles after a long day of sitting, standing, or engaging in physically demanding work.

How to properly use a massage gun?

You'll achieve the best results by using the massage gun correctly. Before you start massaging, read the user manual for your product. The next step is to select the appropriate head attachment based on which part of the body you want to massage and with what intensity.

How to choose the right massage head attachment?

Head attachments included with the massage gun vary across manufacturers. However, you'll most commonly encounter these types of head attachments:

  • Fork Head Attachment: Suitable for gently massaging long and narrow muscles, such as those in the back or shins.
  • Bullet Head Attachment: Ideal for deep tissue massage and targeting stiff muscle knots, known as trigger points.
  • Round Head Attachment: The most versatile massage attachment, suitable for massaging the back, shoulders, arms, hips, buttocks, quadriceps, hamstrings, and Flat Head Attachment: Used for areas with flat muscles, such as the back or forearms.
  • Golden Finger Head Attachment: Can be used as a gentler alternative to the bullet attachment. Also suitable for small muscles in the hands or feet area.
  • Adze Head Attachment: Useful for hard-to-reach areas and for effectively massaging, for example, the cervical spine, palms, or feet. Also suitable for the sides of the thighs or forearms.

Once you've chosen the appropriate head attachment, turn on the massage gun and select the desired intensity level. Then, place the head attachment on the skin surface and start massaging. Slowly move the massage gun over the massaged area using moderate pressure. Focus particularly on areas where you feel greater stiffness and tension. Massage each area for approximately 30 seconds to 2 minutes, then move on to the next part of the body. However, make sure to always avoid joints and bones.
