Fitness Recipe: Hummus with Chickpeas and Beetroot

Today we prepared a quick and simple recipe not only for healthy food lovers, but also for people who love trying exotic cuisine. Let’s prepare the traditional hummus with chickpeas enriched by beetroot which adds great taste, beautiful colour, and lots of health-promoting substances. Let’s enjoy it!


  • 1 tin of chickpeas (240 g)
  • 200 g pre-cooked beetroot
  • 30 g tahini paste
  • 20 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • lemon juice from ½ lemon
  • 1 handful of parsley leaves
  • salt and ground black pepper to your taste

Drain and rinse the chickpeas from the tin. Add chickpeas, pre-cooked beetroot, tahini paste, olive oil, the clove of garlic, parsley leaves, and lemon juice to the blender, and mix it all until smooth. If the hummus seems to be too thick, add a small amount of tepid water. At last, season it with salt, ground black pepper, and ground cumin. Serve the hummus with pastry or fresh vegetables.
