tiramisu

Tiramisu is a delectable dessert that has captured the hearts of many aficionados of Italian delights. It boasts a luscious combination of sponge fingers soaked in quality coffee and Amaretto, complemented by a whipped cream made from mascarpone, sugar, and eggs. And, of course, the cocoa dusting on the surface, which gives the dessert its distinctive appearance, is an essential finishing touch. This is how we could describe the original Italian recipe for a simple, no-bake tiramisu. The preparation becomes somewhat more demanding if you decide to make your own sponge fingers.

Desserts à la tiramisu

Nowadays, there are numerous variations (so-called “fake tiramisu”) that may use lighter ingredients or, conversely, be enriched with additional treats. An example could be our fitness tiramisu, where we used quark to prepare the cream. Alternatively, cream cheese or butter spread can be used. Fruit versions are also very common, such as the strawberry, blueberry, banana, or raspberry tiramisu, or a tiramisu variant with mixed berries.

Tiramisu as a balanced snack

However, tiramisu doesn’t necessarily have to be just a delightful dessert. When you slightly adjust the ingredients to include more protein and less fat, it can also become a well-balanced snack. In such a case, we recommend making tiramisu in a glass, so you can take it with you wherever you go. Last but not least, if you truly love this Italian coffee dessert, you can also prepare a tiramisu-flavoured chia pudding or bake our fluffy tiramisu brownies, which combine two popular recipes in one.
