Prepare a luxurious fitness dessert at home that features a perfectly balanced harmony of fluffy curd cheese dough and fresh citrus cream. These delicious orange slices are very easy to bake, and thanks to a generous dose of protein, they will become your favourite healthy post-workout reward or a perfect accompaniment to your afternoon coffee.
For the base, you will need:
- 500 g low-fat smooth curd cheese
- 250 g low-fat lumpy curd cheese
- 90 g cane sugar
- 20 ml orange juice
- 3 eggs
- 1 package (38 g) vanilla pudding powder
- Zest of one orange
For the orange cream, we will need:
- 150 ml orange juice
- 50 g cane sugar
- 30 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 egg yolk

Instructions:
Start by preparing the base. Whisk the curd cheeses with the eggs, orange juice, sugar, finely grated orange zest, and pudding powder. Pour the prepared batter into a mould (ours was 20×20 cm) lined with baking paper and bake for 40 minutes at 170 °C.

Meanwhile, mix the orange juice with the sugar, eggs, and egg yolk in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Once prepared, remove the cream from the heat, stir in the butter, and strain it through a sieve to make it perfectly smooth. Pour the cream onto the hot cake and return it to the oven. Bake for another 15 minutes at 150 °C.
Let the baked cake cool completely and then set in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. Serve the cake chilled, cut into squares, and garnished with orange slices.
