Red Light Therapy Facial Mask – Red Light LED Mask for Face and Neck for Skin Light Therapy

The Red Light Therapy face mask is an at-home face mask with a separate neck piece for light therapy for your skin. It is made from soft medical-grade silicone that comfortably conforms to the shape of your face, while the elastic straps let you adjust the fit to suit you. A total of 232 LEDs are positioned so that 114 cover the face and 118 cover the neck. This provides even coverage, extending care beyond the chin to the neck and décolletage. The mask thus supports skin regeneration, wrinkle reduction and firmer-looking skin without invasive procedures.

You can choose from 4 light modes, which you can combine, and adjust the brightness in 10% increments (0–100%) to suit your goals. The material is also BPA-free, and the mask bears the CE marking and meets RoHS requirements.

How does the mask work, and when will I see the first results?

The mask works through a process called photobiomodulation. Put simply, light at certain wavelengths is absorbed directly by the cells’ mitochondria. This helps them produce the energy (ATP) they need to function.¹ Depending on the mode you select, the light reaches either only the surface of the skin or deeper tissues.

Light therapy works gradually. During the first month, use the mask 4–5 times a week; during the second month, 3 times a week; and from the third month onward, twice a week on an ongoing basis is sufficient. You will usually see the first results after 6–8 weeks of regular use, although results may vary from person to person.

What does each mode do?Red mode (630 nm)

Red light acts on the surface of the skin, where it stimulates collagen production, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and visibly firms and rejuvenates the skin.² This is why it is a cornerstone of anti-aging skincare. Collagen gives the skin its firmness, and the decline in collagen with age leads to wrinkles.²

Blue mode (415 nm)

Blue light targets oily and problem-prone skin. It remains in the surface layers of the skin and has an antibacterial effect. It is therefore suitable when you are dealing with acne, excess sebum production and inflammation associated with problem-prone skin.³

Pink mode (630 + 415 nm)

Pink mode activates red and blue light simultaneously. This allows you to combine anti-aging care (red light) with treatment targeting impurities and excess sebum (blue light) in a single session. Studies show that combining both modes is among the most effective options for inflammatory acne.³

NIR Mode – Near-Infrared Light (830 nm)

Near-infrared light penetrates the deepest of all the modes. In the deeper layers, it supports cellular energy and is associated with skin regeneration.¹ ²

How to use the mask

Secure the mask with hook-and-loop straps and the neck piece with elastic straps, leaving your hands free during treatment. You control everything with the remote control, which displays the selected mode, brightness, pulse frequency, remaining time and battery level. You can also combine modes, such as red and near-infrared light. The 1–30-minute timer keeps track of the treatment duration for you, so you do not have to watch the clock and can simply relax.

The mask also offers a pulsed mode, in which the light flashes instead of shining continuously, at an adjustable frequency of 0–10,000 Hz (in 1,000 Hz increments). In practice, this has two benefits. At high intensity, it reduces skin heating (the mask delivers the same amount of light with less heat), while lower frequencies let you choose a gentler, more comfortable treatment for sensitive skin—all without changing the brightness.

Near-infrared light (830 nm) is almost invisible to the human eye. If the mask glows only faintly or not at all in NIR mode, it is functioning normally.

The remote control is connected to the mask by a built-in USB cable and is powered by a rechargeable battery (4,000 mAh), so you do not need a power outlet. The battery charges in approximately 3 hours via a USB adapter or power bank and provides up to 3.5 hours of use. Do not use the mask while it is charging. Wear eye protectors during every treatment and do not look directly into the light.

Who is the Red Light Therapy face mask suitable for?

1. You want to care for your skin at home.
There is no need to book appointments or travel to a salon. Simply switch on the mask whenever it suits you.

2. You are noticing your first wrinkles.
The red light mode stimulates collagen production and targets fine lines.² Near-infrared light penetrates deeper and is associated with skin regeneration.¹

3. Your skin is prone to blemishes.
The blue light mode targets acne and inflammation and is being studied in relation to oilier skin.

4. You want one device for several purposes.
You can switch between and combine four light modes according to your current needs, and adjust the brightness in 10% increments.

5. You want to take the mask with you when you travel.
You can charge the battery using a USB adapter or a power bank, so you do not have to rely on a power outlet.

6. You do not want a complicated routine.
Put on the mask, select a mode, and let the timer take care of the treatment duration. No extra steps and no experience with light therapy required.

How to use the mask safely
Before and after treatment

Place the mask on clean, dry skin without makeup. Before treatment, do not use retinoids or retinol, AHA or BHA acids, benzoyl peroxide, strong exfoliants, or enzyme peels. You may apply a thin layer of serum containing hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, or a light moisturizer without acids. Apply vitamin C and sunscreen only after treatment. Then continue with your usual skincare routine; this is a good time to apply serum.

Treatment duration

The recommended duration of a single treatment is 10–15 minutes. Use the mask no more than once a day. The timer can be set for up to 30 minutes, but we recommend a longer treatment only if your skin is not sensitive to light. Especially in NIR mode, a treatment longer than 15 minutes may cause redness or irritation if you have sensitive skin.

When not to use the mask

Do not use the mask if you:

  • are under 12 years of age,
  • are pregnant or breastfeeding,
  • are sensitive to light or are taking medications that increase sensitivity to light (e.g. certain antibiotics, retinoids including isotretinoin, antidepressants),
  • have a skin or eye condition associated with sensitivity to light (e.g. lupus, photosensitive eczema, albinism),
  • have previously had a light-induced seizure (this applies particularly to pulsed mode),
  • have active cancer,
  • have an active eye condition,
  • have undergone a chemical peel, laser or other abrasive treatment within the past 2 weeks,
  • have recently received fillers or hyaluronic acid injections,
  • have open wounds or an infection on your skin.

If you are unsure, consult a doctor before use.
