Premium Omega-3 Oil – flavoured fish oil from Norwegian salmon and wild cod with excellent oxidative stability and a pleasant citrus flavour

Premium Omega-3 Oil is a flavoured liquid fish oil made from extra virgin salmon oil and oil from wild cod livers. This selection of raw materials has a clear technological reason. While the cod comes from wild Norwegian fisheries, the salmon are raised in strictly controlled farms. Wild salmon living in the ocean naturally accumulate higher amounts of heavy metals, and their oil would therefore require purification through refining. Thanks to the use of farmed salmon from clean waters, the oil remains in the highest unrefined (extra virgin) quality. In this supplement, the fish oil is in the triglyceride form (TG), which is the natural form of fats commonly consumed in the diet and therefore highly bioavailable.

One tablespoon (10 ml) provides 1,460 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, including 450 mg EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and 640 mg DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). EPA and DHA support the normal function of the heart. DHA also contributes to the normal brain function and  maintenance of normal eyesight. The formula is further enriched with 90 mg of docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) and a blend of monounsaturated fatty acids. Thanks to this, it is a GLP-1 friendly product.

The product is regularly tested for heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic) according to Norwegian Food Authority standards. Its microbiological safety is also laboratory verified. A key indicator is also its freshness, measured by the total oxidation value (TOTOX), which is based on peroxide and anisidine value. The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED) has established an acceptable TOTOX value of 26. Our raw materials achieve significantly lower values. The cod liver oil has a TOTOX value of 4 and the salmon oil TOTOX <5. The peroxide value itself does not exceed 0.6 mEq/kg for cod and 2 for salmon. The anisidine value remains below 3 for cod and 1 for salmon, which is well below the GOED limit (20) and fully compliant with the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph.Eur.) standards.

In practice, this means the oil is maximally stable, does not go rancid and does not cause the well-known unpleasant fishy burping. This exceptional freshness is also maintained thanks to a special metal packaging, which unlike transparent glass or plastic completely blocks access of light and air, the main factors responsible for accelerating oxidation and rancidity. The formula is further supported by the included vitamin E (natural blend of tocopherols, 12 mg per serving), which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Thanks to this, you can be sure you are consuming omega-3s in a pure and stable form.

Using this liquid fish oil from Norway is also very pleasant. Thanks to its refreshing citrus flavour and sweetener from the stevia plant, the oil has an excellent taste without a fishy smell. The recommended dose is 10 ml daily, ideally in the morning with food. You can easily take it on its own by the spoonful or mix it directly into your morning smoothie or yoghurt.
