Astaxanthin - a natural antioxidant that protects cells from oxidative stress 

Astaxanthin is an extract from freshwater algae (Haematococcus pluvialis) containing astaxanthin in the form of practical capsules. It is one of the carotenoids that are popular due to their antioxidant properties. It effectively protects cells from oxidative stress. The latter occurs when the balance between the amount of free radicals and the body's ability to neutralize them is disturbed. Free radicals can then attack and damage cells. Antioxidants have the ability to capture and remove these harmful particles. 

                

This carotenoid is also popular among people who want to take maximum care of their eyesight. Its structure is similar to beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. Healthy vision is most often associated with this vitamin. Astaxanthin is also naturally found in seafood and fish such as crustaceans and salmon. However, this product, thanks to the freshwater algae extract, has a purely plant-based ingredients list and is therefore also suitable for vegans.
