Thor + Amynel® – a powerful pre-workout supplement with 10 active ingredients to enhance your performance

Thor + Amynel® is a pre-workout supplement that does not rely solely on stimulants. It also contains carbohydrates, amino acids and other selected ingredients to support your workout.

Each 20 g serving contains ten active ingredients. The carbohydrate component consists of 8,500 mg of Amynel®, our own registered ingredient made from high-molecular-weight amylopectin.

To maximise its potential, it is complemented by 3 g of L-citrulline DL-malate, 2.4 g of beta-alanine, 1.6 g of arginine as AAKG, 800 mg of taurine and 500 mg of glycerol monostearate.

The formula is rounded out by a stimulant blend containing 200 mg of caffeine, 140 mg of Siberian ginseng extract, 25 mg of bitter orange extract standardised to 80% synephrine and 35 mg of vitamin B3 (niacin). The product is free from gluten, lactose and GMOs and is suitable for vegans.

What is Amynel® and why is it based on amylopectin?

Amynel® is our own registered trademark for a carbohydrate ingredient. We designed it to deliver what you expect from a pre-workout carbohydrate.

It is based on amylopectin from corn starch. Each serving contains 7 g of it, supplemented with 1.483 g of dextrose.

Starch consists of two components. Amylose is a long, linear chain, while amylopectin is branched. A branch splits off roughly every twenty-five glucose units, so the molecule looks more like the crown of a tree than a rope.

Why did we choose this particular one? Branching means that enzymes can work at dozens of sites at once, so amylopectin breaks down faster and the resulting glucose can reach your muscles sooner. At the same time, it is a large molecule that forms fewer particles in a drink, so your stomach passes it on faster than the same amount of simple sugars. For training, this means fuel that arrives when you need it without sitting heavily in your stomach.^1,2

The body also produces alpha-amylase itself. In Amynel®, however, this enzyme is included in the formulation, specifically 17 mg with an activity of 2,000 DU*. The breakdown of amylopectin therefore does not have to start from scratch.

The ingredient is laboratory-tested, fat-free and mixes without forming lumps.

*DU is a dextrinizing unit and corresponds to the amount of enzyme that breaks down one gram of starch in one hour at 30 °C. Two thousand DU in a single dose therefore represents a capacity many times greater than that needed to break down seven grams of amylopectin.

Five components for performance

In addition to carbohydrates, each serving contains five ingredients that make Thor a pre-workout supplement.

3 g + 1.6 g

Citrulline Malate + AAKG

For a muscle pump, the formula contains 1.6 g of AAKG, or L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate, and 3 g of L-citrulline DL-malate in a 2:1 ratio, making it the most abundant of the five ingredients. Citrulline is converted into arginine in the body, which serves as a precursor to nitric oxide (NO)—the compound athletes associate with a muscle pump.³

Beta-alanine

For longer sets, the formula contains 2,400 mg of beta-alanine. Together with histidine, the body uses it to produce carnosine, which is stored in the muscles and helps buffer acidity during intense exercise.⁴ It is also the substance that causes a tingling sensation in the skin. This is a harmless and temporary side effect and, according to the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), one of the only side effects consistently observed with beta-alanine.⁴

Taurine

It provides taurine at 800 mg, an aminosulfonic acid naturally present in high concentrations in the muscles.

500 mg

Glycerol monostearate

The final ingredient is glycerol monostearate at 500 mg. Glycerol binds water, which is why it is used in pre-workout supplements.

A boost that goes beyond caffeine

Caffeine

A boost comes from 200 mg of caffeine, roughly the amount in two and a half espressos. Caffeine helps increase alertness and improve concentration.

Siberian ginseng

For maximum focus, the formula includes Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) in the form of an extract with a 10:1 extraction ratio. This is equivalent to 1.4 g of root. It contributes to increased mental and physical energy and supports normal blood circulation, which is associated with brain performance and responsiveness. It also supports optimal mental and cognitive function.

Bitter orange extract

Completing the trio is bitter orange (Citrus aurantium), which contributes to weight management, helps maintain healthy adipose tissue and supports the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. It is provided as a standardized extract (40:1) containing 80% synephrine. Each serving therefore contains 20 mg of synephrine.

35 mg

Niacin (vitamin B3)

The final ingredient is 35 mg of niacin (219% NRV). Niacin (vitamin B3) contributes to normal energy metabolism and functioning of the nervous system, and helps reduce tiredness and fatigue.

Who is Thor + Amynel® suitable for?

1. You train hard at the gym
Caffeine helps increase alertness and improve concentration, while Siberian ginseng contributes to mental and physical energy. The muscle pump comes from 3,000 mg of citrulline malate.

2. You do CrossFit, HYROX or functional training
These types of training alternate short, intense intervals and use up carbohydrates quickly. Each serving contains 8,500 mg of carbohydrates.

3. You do not have time to eat before training
Carbohydrates and stimulants together, so you do not have to plan a meal an hour beforehand.

4. You are trying to lose weight and monitoring your intake
Each serving has under 70 kcal, and bitter orange contributes to weight management and supports the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.

5. You need to focus before training
Siberian ginseng contributes to optimal mental and cognitive function and supports normal blood circulation, which is linked to brain performance and responsiveness.

6. You train after work and feel tired
Niacin helps reduce tiredness and fatigue, while caffeine helps increase alertness.
