Natural Shower Gel 2v1 Salt & Sage by GymBeam is a gentle sulfate-free shower gel with glycerin and grapeseed oil. The cleansing base consists of a combination of three gentle surfactants derived from plant-based ingredients that remove sweat, sebum and impurities from the skin without unnecessarily drying it out. Grapeseed oil softens the skin without leaving a noticeable greasy film, while glycerin helps maintain its hydration. Free from sulfates and parabens, with the scent of sage and sea salt.
Deep hydration right in the shower: Water and soap often mean dry skin. That is why we added plant-based glycerin as the second ingredient (even before cleansing ingredients), complemented with grape seed oil. The product cleanses while helping to protect the hydrolipidic barrier.
The cleansing base consists of Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, a sugar surfactant made by combining glucose with plant-derived fatty alcohols. It gently cleanses the skin and is among the cleansing agents used in formulations designed to avoid intensive degreasing. It is complemented by Decyl Glucoside, another sugar surfactant derived from glucose and a plant-derived fatty alcohol. It helps remove impurities while maintaining the gentle nature of the overall product.
The third cleansing agent is Cocamidopropyl Betaine, an amphoteric surfactant made from fatty acids that often come from coconut oil. It helps create a pleasant lather while also softening the overall cleansing effect of the formulation.
Glycerin and grapeseed oil to combat the feeling of dry skin
The second ingredient is glycerin, which is among the substances capable of binding water. In the shower gel, it helps keep the skin hydrated and reduce the unpleasant feeling of dryness or tightness after washing.
The formula also contains grape seed oil. It is obtained from grape seeds and is naturally rich in lipids, including linoleic acid. It has a light texture and helps soften the skin without leaving a pronounced greasy film.
A green superfood: A fascinating hue and an extra dose of minerals are provided to the gel by Spirulina. This blue-green alga is known for its antioxidant properties, while natural mica gives it an interesting texture.
The product’s distinctive consistency is created by xanthan gum. It is a polysaccharide produced through the fermentation of sugars using microorganisms. It is used as a thickener and stabiliser. It helps create a gel texture, making the product easy to dispense and preventing it from immediately running off the skin.
An effective preservative system ensures product stability
The shower gel contains Benzyl Alcohol and Dehydroacetic Acid, a pair of substances used to preserve cosmetic products. Their role is to limit the growth of unwanted microorganisms and help keep the product safe throughout its period of use.
For products with a high water content, proper preservation is essential – these are not unnecessary additives, but an important part of formulation safety.
How does it differ from regular shower gel?
