Natural Roll-On Deodorant Green Tonic by GymBeam helps reduce the formation of unpleasant body odour without the use of aluminium salts. Its formula is based on a combination of Triethyl Citrate and Zinc PCA, which act on the processes associated with odour formation, while aloe vera, glycerin and propanediol help keep the underarm skin hydrated and pleasant to the touch. The formula is complemented by the fermented ingredient Lactococcus Ferment and lactic acid to adjust pH.
Zinc PCA regulates sebum production and Triethyl Citrate neutralises odour right at its source – a combination that addresses the cause of perspiration without interfering with the sweating mechanism itself. Rather than relying on one powerful synthetic substance, our preservation system is based on a combination of several gentler ingredients – levulinic acid and its sodium salt, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate work together to keep the product stable and fresh. We also add Lactococcus Ferment, a probiotic culture that supports the natural balance of the skin microbiome – the very area most disrupted by conventional deodorants.
The main work against odour is done by Triethyl Citrate and Zinc PCA. Triethyl Citrate (a citric acid ester) prevents bacteria on the skin from converting sweat into substances that smell unpleasant. Zinc PCA also adds a natural component of the skin's moisturising factors, while zinc additionally has an antimicrobial effect. Together, they do not block sweat glands like an antiperspirant, but instead work directly with bacteria on the skin's surface.
It is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant
Our roll-on deodorant contains no aluminium salts, so it does not stop sweating – nor is that its purpose. It is a deodorant: it allows the body to sweat naturally and "only" makes sure it does not smell. Ideal for those who do not want to block their sweat glands but want to stay free from odour all day long.
Underarms go through a lot during the day – friction, shaving and sweat. That is why the formula also contains a trio of soothing and moisturising ingredients: aloe vera, glycerin, which binds water in the skin, and propanediol, which moisturises while also helping dissolve the other ingredients.
Fermented ingredient
The formula also contains an ingredient created through fermentation by Lactococcus bacteria: a fermented cosmetic ingredient. It complements the product's moisturising and deodorising effect.
Glyceryl Caprylate (from glycerin and caprylic acid, for example from coconut oil) has emulsifying and antimicrobial properties and supports the preservation system. Together with levulinic acid and its salt (Sodium Levulinate), it enhances antimicrobial protection, while Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate, as conventional preservatives, keep the product's water base microbiologically stable.
We owe its pleasant gel consistency to xanthan gum – a thickener produced through the fermentation of sugars, which ensures the product is applied evenly via the roll-on ball.
How does it differ from a regular deodorant?
A conventional antiperspirant primarily aims to reduce the amount of sweat using aluminium salts. Our roll-on deodorant works differently. It does not block sweating, but with the help of Triethyl Citrate, Zinc PCA and other functional ingredients, it helps reduce the development of unpleasant odour on the skin's surface.
It also contains aloe vera, glycerin and propanediol, so the formula also considers skin comfort during daily use.
