Rowing Machine Pulse combines air and magnetic resistance, engaging your legs, back, arms and core at the same time while rowing. Air resistance increases with the force of your stroke, while magnetic resistance can be actively adjusted, allowing you to handle both smooth cardio sessions and intense intervals. The console offers nine training modes. The frame can be separated into two parts and stored vertically without a single tool. Maximum user weight: 150 kg.

Rowing Machine Pulse – rowing machine with dual air and magnetic resistance and a space-saving frame

Rowing Machine Pulse is a cardio machine that simulates the rowing motion and engages your legs, back, arms and core with every stroke. This is precisely why rowing is one of the most comprehensive forms of cardio. When more muscles work at the same time, your energy expenditure increases and you burn more calories in every minute of training. The construction is based on a steel frame with ABS elements, while the flywheel is made of glass-fibre-reinforced nylon. The machine has a maximum user weight of 150 kg.

Dual resistance system

The Pulse Rowing Machine combines two types of resistance that complement each other.

  • Air resistance responds to the intensity of your stroke: the harder and faster you pull, the more force you have to overcome, so you control the difficulty directly through your pace.
  • Magnetic resistance, on the other hand, maintains a constant load regardless of pace, and you can actively adjust it directly on the resistance dial.

By combining both, you get a much wider range of difficulty, from an easy start to maximum-intensity intervals. The magnetic brake has one more practical advantage. It allows you to increase the resistance without having to row faster. With a purely air-resistance machine, a higher load goes hand in hand with a louder flywheel. Here, you can enjoy a more demanding workout even in your flat in the evening.

Display and performance measurement

The built-in console displays time, distance, calories burned, power in watts, strokes per minute and total number of strokes during your workout. You can switch the distance between metres and miles. When using a compatible chest strap (not included), the console also measures heart rate and offers the Recovery function – a sixty-second test that evaluates heart rate recovery after exercise.

After four minutes of inactivity, the console switches to power-saving mode.

Training programmes

The rowing machine offers nine modes depending on what you are currently training. The 20/10 and 10/20 intervals have their own dedicated button on the console, so you can start them with a single press.

  • Manual mode – you row without a target, and the console records everything you row
  • Target time – set the workout duration and the time counts down to zero
  • Target distance – enter the metres and the console counts down
  • Target calories – enter the desired calorie expenditure, and the console counts down
  • Target number of strokes – enter the number of strokes you want to row
  • Target heart rate – set a value and the console monitors whether you exceed it (requires a chest strap)
  • 20/10 interval – 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest
  • 10/20 interval – 10 seconds of work, 20 seconds of rest
  • Custom interval – set the work and rest times yourself

Space-saving frame for every flat

Rowing Machine Pulse is also designed for smaller spaces. The frame consists of two parts that fit together and are secured with a lock. You can assemble it without a single tool. For storage, simply separate the parts and stand it upright, so the machine does not take up unnecessary space. It includes a sliding seat and pedals with straps to secure your feet.

Who is the Rowing Machine Pulse for?

  • You are losing weight or getting toned: Rowing engages your legs, back, arms and core in every stroke. More working muscles mean higher energy expenditure than movements involving only the legs.
  • You want to improve your fitness: The resistance range grows with your fitness level, while HIIT programmes take you from your first strokes to demanding intervals.
  • You have limited space: You can store the space-saving folding frame upright even in a smaller flat.
  • You want to protect your joints: The smooth pulling motion without hard impacts is gentle on your joints and suitable for low-impact training.
  • You train at home and are concerned about noise: The magnetic brake lets you increase the resistance without increasing the pace, and therefore without increasing the noise.
  • You train by the numbers: The console measures watts, pace, strokes and heart rate, while a chest strap adds a heart rate recovery test.

How to use and maintain the rowing machine

Secure your feet in the pedal straps. For each stroke, push with your legs, straighten them and simultaneously pull the handle towards your body; lean back slightly at the end, then smoothly return to the starting position. Adjust the resistance on the dial; settings of 3–5 are recommended for smooth rowing.

Maintenance has three levels:

  • After every workout, wipe the machine dry.
  • Approximately every 50 hours, lubricate the chain with clean oil or 20W motor oil.
  • Approximately every 250 hours, inspect the individual chain links, check and tighten the connections between the handle and chain, and vacuum dust from inside the flywheel cover.
