Liposomal Iron - GymBeam

Liposomal iron contains Liposovit®-Fe, a branded ingredient based on advanced liposomal technology.

Each capsule contains 14 mg of iron, equivalent to 100% of the NRV. The iron is in the form of organic bisglycinate encapsulated in a liposome.

The capsule is made from plant-based HPMC, and the pack contains 60 capsules, a two-month supply. The product contains no gluten, lactose or GMOs and is also suitable for vegans.

A liposome is a microscopic carrier made of phospholipids, the same substances that make up cell membranes. It has a double-layered outer shell and an aqueous core.

The active ingredient is encapsulated within it, and the liposome’s structure mimics a cell membrane. This similarity is what gives liposomal formulations their excellent absorption.

A liposome is a naturally unstable structure, and converting it into a powder is the most challenging part of the process. Liposovit® addresses this with its own drying process, which preserves the integrity of the liposomes. Maltodextrin and glycerol hold them together while keeping the ingredient free-flowing.

The result is liposomes measuring less than 300 nanometers that do not require a cold chain and remain stable at room temperature. The smaller and more uniform the particles, the more stable the liposomal structure.

The phospholipids in the ingredient come from sunflower lecithin, and the ingredient is free from GMOs, preservatives, allergens and residual organic solvents, and contains no animal-derived ingredients.
