Joints don't need five different bottles on the shelf. Collagen Type II Joint Complex combines five active ingredients in one capsule a day - undenatured type II collagen from chicken sternum, standardised Indian frankincense extract, hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and D3. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the proper function of cartilage and bones1, vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of healthy bones and proper muscle function1. The content of each active ingredient has been verified in an accredited laboratory and purity regarding heavy metals and microbiology confirmed by an independent German laboratory.
Collagen Type II Joint Complex is a comprehensive joint supplement in a single capsule. One daily serving contains 40 mg of undenatured type II collagen from chicken sternum, 200 mg of Indian frankincense extract (Boswellia serrata) at an extraction ratio of 4:1, standardised to 60% boswellic acids, i.e. 120 mg, 60 mg of hyaluronic acid, 200 mg of vitamin C (250 % NRV) and 5 µg of vitamin D3 (100 % NRV).
The vitamin C in this serving contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones and also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.¹ Vitamin D3, at a dose covering 100% of the daily reference value, contributes to the maintenance of healthy bones, normal muscle function, and normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.¹ These are claims approved by the European Commission based on EFSA's assessment, not merely marketing promises.
And unlike most joint complexes on the market, you do not have to question what is inside. We had the product tested by an accredited laboratory, and the measured values match or exceed the claims stated on the label. Heavy metals and microbiology are verified by an independent German laboratory accredited by DAkkS.
What is undenatured type II collagen, and how does it differ from regular collagen powder?
Collagen is not a single substance. There are more than twenty types in the body, and each has a different location and role. Type I predominates in the skin, tendons and bones; it is the one you know from most collagen products. Type II, by contrast, is the main structural collagen in joint cartilage.
However, the difference is not only in the type, but especially in the processing. Regular collagen is hydrolysed – broken down by heat and enzymes into short peptides that the body uses as building material. That is why it is dosed in grams.
Undenatured (native) type II collagen works differently. It is produced gently at low temperatures to preserve its intact triple-helix molecular structure. This preserved structure is why undenatured type II collagen is used in research and commercial formulations at significantly lower doses, typically 40 mg daily, whereas hydrolysed collagen is dosed in grams. It is not a less potent ingredient, but a completely different principle of use.
In our formulation, it is sourced from chicken sternum, which is the standard and most commonly used source of native type II collagen.

The first way is building material. This is how regular hydrolysed collagen works. It is broken down into tiny pieces, absorbed by the body and used as bricks. When building a wall, you need lots of bricks – which is why hydrolysed collagen is dosed in grams, typically ten grams a day.
The second way is information. This is how undenatured type II collagen works. It is not a truckload of bricks, but rather a sample submitted for inspection. That is precisely why it is dosed in milligrams – just 40 mg daily. You do not need to transport a sample by truck.
How does it work?
In the small intestine, the body has something like a training centre for the immune system – clusters of immune tissue that constantly check everything passing by and decide what is a threat and what is not. Technically, this process is called oral tolerance: when the immune system repeatedly encounters a particular molecule in the digestive tract, it learns to recognise it as harmless and stops reacting to it.
And here is the key point: for the immune system to recognise a sample, the sample must be readable. Type II collagen has the shape of a triple helix – like a rope twisted from three strands. When you boil it, it unravels and loses its recognisable shape. It is like presenting an ID card for inspection after you have thoroughly crumpled it up and soaked it in water. That is why the word “undenatured” is not marketing, but a technical requirement. Production must take place at low temperatures; otherwise, the molecule loses the very property for which it is used. This is why the label must state whether the collagen is hydrolysed or undenatured – they are two different products, not two words for the same thing.
Boswellia and the AKBA mystery: why two extracts with the same number may not be the same
Indian frankincense is the hardened resin of a tree that has been used in India for thousands of years. The resin is made into an extract containing so-called boswellic acids – a group of related substances, not just one. And this is exactly where the market splits into two halves.
Imagine two bags of nuts, both labelled “100 % nuts”. The first contains only almonds, the second only peanuts. The information on the packaging is correct in both cases – yet you have received two completely different things. This is exactly how it works with Boswellia. The label states the percentage of total boswellic acids, for example our 60 %. Yet research focuses most closely on only two specific forms from the whole group: AKBA and KBA, known as keto forms. And their proportion varies dramatically between extracts – while you cannot tell it from a standard label.
Why keto forms specifically? Put simply, the body has something like a production line for signalling molecules. A specific enzyme called 5-lipoxygenase is a machine on this line that makes one particular group of signalling molecules from a raw material. AKBA is a molecule that can bind to this machine and slow it down. Interestingly, this is a different line from the one affected by common over-the-counter painkillers – those act on a completely different enzyme.
We therefore had the keto-form content actually measured in a laboratory. Using HPLC, a method that separates and quantifies individual substances in a mixture. The result: 10,5 mg AKBA + KBA in one capsule. Not an estimate, not a calculation from a percentage – a value measured in the report. You will find this number on virtually no competing product. Not because they do not have it, but because nobody has had it measured.
This is the ingredient most people underestimate – yet it is the most important one in the formulation in terms of what we can legally claim. Let us return to the image of collagen as a rope made of three strands. For the rope to hold together and not fall apart under strain, the strands need to be linked together – like knots that keep ropes intact. These “knots” are created by two specific enzymes. And those enzymes cannot work without vitamin C.
Vitamin C keeps the iron atom in these enzymes in the state in which the enzyme is functional. When vitamin C is lacking, the enzymes stop, the knots do not form, and although the body produces collagen, it will be weak and unstable. This is not a theory. It is why sailors on long voyages without fresh fruit developed scurvy – a disease in which connective tissues literally broke down, teeth fell out and wounds would not heal. Without vitamin C, the body cannot keep its own collagen together.
This is why vitamin C is the only ingredient in this formulation for which the European Commission, based on EFSA's assessment, has approved the claim that it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones.1 And that is why we have not included it merely symbolically, but at a dose of 200 mg, which is 250 % of the daily reference value. Scientific literature also describes its role in cartilage cell maturation and in the formation of the extracellular matrix – the material between cells that gives tissue its strength.7
Vitamin D3: cartilage never works alone
When people hear the word “joint”, they picture cartilage. But cartilage is only the covering at the end of a bone – a thin layer that rests on a bony foundation and is set in motion by muscle. If the foundation is weak, the covering bears the consequences. If the muscle does not keep the joint properly aligned, the cartilage is loaded unevenly.
Vitamin D addresses precisely these two roles. It contributes to the maintenance of healthy bones, normal muscle function, and normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus – the two minerals bones are made of.1 Once again, these are officially approved claims, not merely marketing promises. With a dose of 5 µg, we cover 100 % of the daily reference value. Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble, so take the capsule with a meal containing some fat.

There is no shortage of joint supplements on the market. Three things matter: what is actually in it, what form it comes in, and whether anyone has measured it. We have all three answers documented.
Five active ingredients in one capsule
Typical “joint supplementation” means three tubs, four capsules and split dosing. We have put the entire complex into one 00 capsule, taken once a day. No counting, no combining, no taking three packs with you on holiday.
Undenatured type II collagen – 40 mg
Exactly 40 mg of native type II collagen from chicken sternum per daily serving. This is the standard dosage used in this category, and it is fully declared on the label.
Boswellia serrata 4:1 - standardised, not just “some extract”
Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) is a resin whose value depends entirely on standardisation. Our extract has a 4:1 ratio and is standardised to 60 % boswellic acids, so from 200 mg of extract, you get 120 mg of boswellic acids. But we went one step further. We also had the content of keto-boswellic acids measured by an accredited laboratory – specifically the sum of acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) and 11-keto-β-boswellic acid (KBA). These are the fractions that receive the most attention in phytochemical research and are not listed on standard labels at all. Measured value: 10,5 mg in one capsule.
Hyaluronic acid - 60 mg
60 mg of hyaluronic acid per daily serving, in the form of sodium hyaluronate. Laboratory-measured 63,2 mg – i.e. 105 % of the declared value.
Vitamin C 200 mg - 250 % NRV
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage.1
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones.1
- Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.1
- Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.1
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.1
Vitamin C is not in the formula as a filler. It is a cofactor for the enzymes prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase, without which the body cannot properly assemble its own collagen triple helix.5 That is why we added 200 mg, i.e. 250 % of the daily reference value.
Vitamin D3 5 µg - 100 % NRV
- Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.1
- Vitamin D contributes to normal muscle function.1
- Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.1
- Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.1
Cartilage does not work on its own. It sits on bone and is moved by muscle. Vitamin D3 at a dose of 5 µg covers 100 % of the daily reference value and fulfils precisely these two roles in the complex.
Verified twice, by two independent accredited laboratories
This is the part most brands skip.
- Active ingredient content – Testing Laboratory EKOCENTRUM OVALAB s.r.o. (Ostrava), accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025:2018, test report no. P 954.2We did not measure “whether there is something in it”. We measured how much is in it – using HPLC/UV methods.
- Heavy metals and microbiology – Labor Dr. Scheller GmbH (Augsburg), accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, DAkkS reg. no. D-PL-19230-01-00, Certificate of Analysis PB26-2788.3 Result: lead 0,109 mg/kg against a limit of 3,0 mg/kg – i.e. less than 4 % of the permitted limit. Cadmium and mercury were below the limit of quantification (< 0,01 mg/kg). Escherichia coli below 10 CFU/g, salmonella negative in 25 g. The sample complies with Regulation (EU) 2023/915 on maximum levels for contaminants in food.4

What happens when you start taking Collagen Type II Joint Complex
A joint supplement is not a pre-workout. You will not feel anything after twenty minutes, and that is not how it is meant to work.
- Immediately after taking it, the capsule dissolves and its ingredients enter the digestive tract. Vitamin C is absorbed quickly and begins to fulfil its role in collagen formation and protecting cells from oxidative stress.¹
- During the first weeks of regular daily use, vitamin C and vitamin D3 levels in the body are replenished. Vitamin D3 in particular contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function¹ – the structures that support and load the joint.
- In the long term – over the course of months – it is about consistent, uninterrupted daily intake. That is why we also created a pack of 240 capsules, which lasts for eight months.
Why consistency, not dosage, matters for joints
This is the most common mistake with joint supplements: buying a one-month pack, losing patience after three weeks and stopping.
Cartilage is avascular tissue. Nutrients do not reach it through the blood, but through diffusion from synovial fluid – and diffusion is slow. Clinical research in this field therefore virtually never works with periods shorter than 90 days, and most protocols run for 180 days.⁶
The practical conclusion is simple: for joints, think in months, not weeks, and take it every day without exception.
Who is Collagen Type II Joint Complex for?
1. Strength athletes and gym-goers.
Squats, deadlifts and presses mean repeated strain on the knees, hips and shoulders.
2. Runners, cyclists and endurance athletes.
A high volume of repetitive movement and one capsule a day that does not need to be taken anywhere or split up.
3. People with physically demanding jobs.
Construction workers, nurses, warehouse workers, hairdressers – everyone who spends the day standing or under physical strain.
4. The 40+ and 50+ generation.
With age, the importance of maintaining normal bones increases, to which vitamin D contributes, as it also contributes to normal muscle function, helping to stabilise the joint.1
5- People returning to exercise after a break.
Returning to training after years means a sudden jump in strain on the joints.
6. Anyone who wants their joint complex covered by one capsule.
Instead of three tubs and four capsules a day.

Composition
Dosage
The standard daily serving is 1 capsule. It provides the entire complex at once: 40 mg of undenatured type II collagen, 200 mg of extract from Boswellia serrata (120 mg boswellic acids), 60 mg of hyaluronic acid, 200 mg of vitamin C and 5 µg of vitamin D3. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.
- Take 1 capsule daily with a sufficient amount of water.
- With food. Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin, so it is better utilised when you take the capsule with a meal containing fat – for example, with breakfast or lunch.
- The same on both training and non-training days. You put stress on your joints every day, not just at the gym. Timing around your workout does not matter here.
Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, at room temperature.
