BIO Vanilla Bean is popular for its pleasant sweet aroma and even sweeter taste. This is due to the aromatic phenolic aldehyde vanillin, which the vanilla bean pod contains. The most valuable part of the pod is the pulp inside, which is full of tiny black seeds. These are removed from the pod by cutting it lengthwise and scraping out both halves of the pod with the blunt side of a knife. For example, the seeds can then be used in the kitchen to make sweet pastries, creams, ice cream, as well as to flavour other baked and non-baked recipes, such as panna cotta. Don't throw away any seeds that you haven't used. You can use them to make vanilla-flavoured sugar. Just place them in a container with sugar, which will soak up the vanilla flavour.
