LLLT is an abbreviation for low-level laser therapy, meaning the use of low-intensity light. The key factor is a specific wavelength. 302 Laser Cap uses 650 nm, a range within the visible red spectrum, which this method uses in hair care. It is not about heating as with thermal devices, but rather light itself reaching the scalp. The treatment therefore remains gentle and takes just a few minutes a day. The effect of this method on hair density was examined in a meta-analysis of eleven double-blind randomized studies.3 A separate randomized study then worked directly with a wavelength of 650 nm in one hundred participants over 24 weeks.4
Most light therapy devices use LEDs, whose light diffuses into a wide cone. 302 Laser Cap relies on real laser diodes that direct a concentrated beam straight at the scalp, so the energy is not lost into the surroundings. According to Blueprint, up to 2,5× higher targeted intensity reaches the scalp than with comparable LED devices. Thanks to its design, 302 Laser Cap also has the lowest price per diode, 44 % less than comparable devices.
A treatment that you start with a single button on battery power, lasts 6 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, both the lasers and battery switch off automatically. A short beep signals the start, while three longer beeps signal the end. There is also a sensor on the inside of the cap that activates the lasers only when you are wearing it on your head.
Wireless operation is ensured by a lithium battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh and four charging status indicators. The treatment is painless, accompanied only by slight warming of the skin. The inner circumference is 22,5″ (approximately 57 cm), so it fits almost everyone comfortably. You can wear the dome itself under the included sports baseball cap or under any headwear of your own.
After use, wipe the device with a dry cloth and do not immerse it in water. Do not remove the inner plastic insert from the cap.
According to Blueprint, results may appear approximately after 16 weeks of daily use. As with all hair products, results may vary.
Blueprint 302 Laser Cap is suitable for both men and women and is intended for regular use, not as a one-time solution. It makes the most sense as a regular part of a comprehensive hair care routine, ideally combined with Blueprint Peptide Shampoo and Peptide Hair Serum for a complete hair routine. The device is intended for skin phototypes I to IV according to the Fitzpatrick scale, meaning shades from light to medium-dark. It is not suitable for phototypes V and VI.
