Teas and Matcha
Teas and Matcha are a category containing selected herbal blends, which, after pouring hot water over them, will enchant you with their captivating aroma and irresistible taste. The origin of tea has a fantastic history behind it, which was born in China. Currently, however, this drink enjoys huge popularity all over the world. It is sought after for its taste, which most people prefer to enjoy from autumn to spring.
What types of teas can we find in this category?
- green, which come from the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) and have undergone only minimal oxidation. Thanks to this, they retain their green colour and fresh, often grassy taste.
- black (fermented) tea leaves, which gives them a dark colour and a characteristic robust, full taste. They often form the base for famous blends and are commonly drunk with milk or lemon.
- fruit, i.e. caffeine-free infusions of dried fruit, flowers and herbs, which usually do not contain tea leaves. They are characterised by a distinct fruit aroma and sweet-sour taste, and are excellent both hot and iced.
- herbal are prepared from various dried herbs, flowers or roots, such as mint, chamomile or ginger. They are popular not only for their diverse taste but also for their soothing or stimulating effects.
- yerba mate, i.e. a South American drink made from the leaves of the Paraguay holly, known for its strong stimulating effects thanks to the caffeine content. It has a specific earthy, slightly bitter taste and is traditionally drunk from a calabash using a bombilla straw.
- matcha – a unique Japanese green tea in the form of a finely ground powder. Unlike common teas that are steeped, Matcha is whisked with water, thanks to which you consume the whole tea leaf. Besides drinking, it is suitable as an ingredient for baking, in desserts, smoothies, breakfast porridge or for the preparation of the popular Matcha Latte.
- blends representing combinations of various types of tea (for example, black and green) or teas enriched with other ingredients.
It is also possible to find various harmonising teas on the market, for example, with a potential influence on the urinary tract. Teas for weight loss, for women in various stages of life or for water retention are also well known. Their composition benefits from a specific blend of herbs that have harmonising effects on the body. An example is tea for weight loss, for women, better mood or more harmonious sleep.
