True Whey is a whey protein in concentrate form, also known by the abbreviation WPC (Whey Protein Concentrate). It is made from liquid whey that is processed using CFM membrane microfiltration. This is a gentle process in which the protein is concentrated without high temperatures and without ion exchange, allowing it to retain its native structure and whey fractions. We blend and package it at our own facility in Germany.

One 30 g scoop contains, depending on the flavour, up to 23 g protein and a complete spectrum of essential amino acids, including up to 5,4 g BCAAs. We intentionally kept the formula short - only whey concentrate and flavouring. No maltodextrin or fillers to increase volume. As a source of protein, it contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass and to the maintenance of normal bones.¹

What is CFM and why does it matter?

CFM, or Cross-Flow Microfiltration, is a membrane process in which whey flows tangentially along the surface of a ceramic or polymer membrane. Smaller molecules, namely water, part of the lactose and minerals, pass through the membrane. The protein becomes concentrated on the retentate side. No ion exchange or high temperatures are used in the process.

The practical result is that the protein retains its native, non-denatured structure and with it the whey fractions naturally present in milk. These include alpha-lactalbumin and beta-lactoglobulin, the two main whey proteins, as well as smaller amounts of lactoferrin and immunoglobulins.

Origin of whey and production of GymBeam True Whey protein

To make True Whey, we use liquid whey from the dairy facilities of our European supplier, rather than purchased pooled powder of unknown origin. This means that every batch is traceable to a specific facility and region. We also test raw milk for the presence of antibiotic residues.

Before concentration, the whey is pasteurized at 76 – 79 °C and subsequently processed using CFM microfiltration by the supplier. Final blending, flavouring and packaging take place at our own facility in Germany, certified according to IFS Food.

What happens when you start drinking True Whey protein
  • After training. You drink a shaker and the protein from it enters your body. Whey is one of the fast proteins that your body processes easily and without delay.
  • After a few weeks of regular drinking. The key is not one shaker, but the fact that you supplement protein every day. When your daily intake is covered, your body has something to build with, and you will start to see the effects between workouts.
  • After a few months. Enough protein plus strength training is a combination that makes muscles grow. And if you are currently losing weight, protein is what keeps muscles where you want them.¹

Why whey is the fastest protein

Not every protein behaves the same way in the body. The difference is not whether you use the protein, but when.

  • Whey is among the so-called fast proteins. After drinking it, it is digested quickly and blood amino acid levels peak within 30 – 60 minutes.
  • Casein is the opposite – it is released gradually over several hours. That is why it is traditionally consumed several hours before bedtime.
  • Soy protein is in between in terms of absorption, peaking at approximately 90 minutes.

It is precisely the fast delivery of protein that makes whey a popular choice after training.

What laboratory testing we carry out for True Whey

It is not enough to say that a protein is tested. There is a difference between a report issued by in-house production and one issued by an independent laboratory. Our True Whey protein reports come from independent German laboratories and can be found directly on this page, separately for each flavour and with a history dating back to 2020. This is because only laboratory tests can truly reveal product quality.

We test three areas:

  • Amino acid profile – the content of 18 amino acids in whey. It is the only test that can detect amino spiking, i.e. artificially increasing the declared protein content.
  • Nutritional values – verification of declared macronutrients.
  • Microbiology and heavy metals – product safety and purity.

Who is True Whey suitable for

1. You want to build muscle
One serving gives you 22 – 23 g of protein and 2,3 – 2,4 g of leucine. Exactly the building material muscles are made of.¹

2. You train hard and often
CrossFit, running, HYROX, or wrestling. When your training volume is high, you need more protein – and a protein shake is the fastest way to get it.¹
