To begin with – I have already ordered this chocolate syrup several times and have enjoyed using it; until now, it has always been perfectly usable and completely satisfactory to me. However, with or since the last order, something seems "different" – I have no idea whether the recipe has been changed, perhaps the bottle material, or whether the product has simply "gone bad" in the sense of being spoiled or contaminated. In any case, the chocolate syrup smells very... aahmm... "an acquired taste," to put it mildly, rather than repulsive. The taste is not much better, leaving an unmistakable aftertaste of melted plastic or burnt wiring in the mouth. I have always enjoyed adding it to porridge and the like, and genuinely liked it very much – which makes me all the more surprised by the bottles I received with the last delivery and their contents. GymBeam has kindly agreed to replace these bottles for me, as they are absolutely inedible.
