Beef Protein – patented HydroBeef™ hydrolysate with up to 93 % protein and no allergens

Beef Protein contains the patented beef protein hydrolysate HydroBeef™, a popular alternative to dairy proteins. It is the only protein ingredient in the entire formula, allowing the powder to contain up to 93 % protein.

One 30 g scoop therefore provides up to 28 g of protein, which supports muscle growth and maintenance. It contains no more than 0,5 g of fat and 0,5 g of carbohydrates, so protein accounts for 94 % of its energy value. It contains no lactose or milk protein at all, making it a solution for anyone avoiding dairy ingredients.

The ingredient was developed by the Danish company Essentia Protein Solutions, and its trademark is licensed by AMPC. This is not an anonymous beef powder, but an ingredient with its own specification and a traceable manufacturer. It comes from sources in the European Union and carries Halal certification. This confirms that both the ingredient and its production comply with Islamic dietary requirements, including the prescribed method of animal slaughter and separation from prohibited ingredients throughout processing. Compliance is monitored by an independent certification authority.

Does beef protein work as well as whey protein?

A meta-analysis of seven randomised controlled trials compared beef and whey protein in people who also trained while taking them. It found no difference in muscle gain or fat loss between the two sources.1 Compared with the group taking no protein supplement at all, beef protein increased both muscle mass and lower-body strength.1

Whey protein contains more leucine, the amino acid that most strongly stimulates muscle protein synthesis. It therefore works faster in the first few hours after training. After several weeks, however, the difference in results disappears, because what matters is total daily protein intake, not how quickly a single serving works.1

Where beef protein has the edge

Beef Protein offers four features worth comparing with whey protein.

  • No milk and no lactose. It is not a milk protein, so it contains no lactose, not even traces. Whey protein concentrate contains 4 to 8 g per 100 g.
  • Higher protein content. Up to 93 % compared with 85 to 90 % in isolate and 70 to 80 % in concentrate.
  • Less fat and sugar. No more than 1,7 g of fat and 0,5 g of sugars per 100 g, while concentrate typically contains 5 to 8 g of each.
  • Halal certification. Rare among milk proteins.

Gentle enzymatic breakdown, not acid hydrolysis

Protein can be broken down into shorter peptides in two ways, and the difference between them is fundamental.

Acid hydrolysis is cheaper and faster. It uses a strong acid at a high temperature, but some amino acids are destroyed in the process. Tryptophan, for example, is broken down almost entirely.

HydroBeef™ undergoes enzymatic hydrolysis. Enzymes break down protein chains in a targeted way at a mild temperature, preserving the amino acids. This can be verified through analysis: tryptophan is present in the amino acid profile, which would not be the case after acid hydrolysis.

This gentle breakdown also has practical benefits. The hydrolysed protein is water-soluble, so simply shake it in a shaker to get a creamy, lump-free drink. In practice, it comes down to one thing. If you avoid milk, beef protein is a fully fledged alternative, not a compromise.

Where beef protein has the edge
Purity and quality checks for every batch

Every batch is tested by independent laboratories accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard for the competence of testing laboratories. Testing covers heavy metal content (lead, cadmium and mercury) using ICP-MS and microbiological purity. Full reports are openly available in the Laboratory Tests section on the product page.

Free from all allergens

Beef Protein contains none of the 14 major allergens. As well as being milk-free, it contains no soy or gluten, which is exceptional for such a concentrated source of protein.

One scoop provides approximately 115 kcal, almost all of which come from protein. This makes it suitable for a weight-loss diet without taking up a large share of your daily calorie intake.

Who is Beef Protein suitable for?

1. You avoid milk proteins.
Whether because of lactose or for another reason. Beef Protein contains no milk or lactose, so you can include it in your diet even when whey protein is not an option.

2. You do strength training.
In an eight-week study, beef protein combined with strength training increased fat-free mass and reduced fat mass compared with the group that did not take protein supplements.2

3. You eat less, perhaps because of GLP-1 products.
One scoop provides up to 28 g of protein in approximately 115 kcal, helping you maintain your protein intake even with small portions. This also makes it suitable for a routine that includes GLP-1 products.

4. You want to know what you are buying.
A patented ingredient with a traceable manufacturer, documented EU origin of the beef, Halal certification and laboratory reports for every batch.

5. You care about your bones, not just your muscles.
Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.

Reviews for a beef protein category are mainly very positive. Most customers highlight a solid protein profile, good digestibility, and relief for those who struggle with lactose or dairy protein. Taste is often described as acceptable to enjoyable, especially in chocolate or vanilla. The most common downside is foaming and clumping when mixed, typically improved by warming, correct ratios, and waiting a few minutes.
