The basis of the product is the complex of five digestive enzymes DigeZyme® (amylase, protease, lactase, lipase, cellulase) and the enzyme bromelain. This is obtained from pineapple (Ananas comosus), and one serving corresponds to an activity of 500 GDU. The abbreviation GDU stands for "Gelatin Digesting Units" and is a unit expressing the enzyme's activity, specifically its ability to break down gelatin. This blend is also complemented by calcium, which contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes.
The complex is further complemented by a trio of botanical extracts. This includes an extract from the root of turmeric (Curcuma longa), which is standardised to its curcumin content. Also in the formula is an extract from the root of ginger (Zingiber officinale), which is a source of gingerols.
