Cluster Dextrin® is a fast carbohydrate that helps you replenish your energy before, during and after your workout. It is made from corn starch (amylopectin), which is broken down by a special enzyme. The result is Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (HBCD) with good digestibility.
This product is in the form of a highly soluble powder, which you just mix with water or your favorite beverage and drink immediately. You will get a carbohydrate drink, which comes in handy before training, especially if you haven't had time to eat and need quick energy. It also comes in handy during endurance activities, such as running, cycling or other sports lasting an hour or more.
However, it is also useful after a workout, especially for people who train in two phases. This is because carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after high-intensity or prolonged physical exercise, which results in muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.
For this to take effect, a total of 4 g of carbohydrate per 1 kg of body weight should be consumed during the first 4 hours after exercise, but no later than 6 hours after the end of the workout.
