It has 7 modes in total. You're most likely to use the white light with 5 luminous intensities, the highest of which has a range of up to 96 m. The red light with 3 brightness levels is less dazzling, so it's suitable when you don't want to disturb others, such as during camping or reading maps. The moonlight is also ideal for this, and thanks to its low intensity you can also use it for reading a book. Other modes include Strobe, which flashes at regular intervals, and SOS at irregular intervals. In emergency situations, you can use Beacon or Turbo mode, which is the most intense flashing light.
