MCT Oil contains medium-chain fatty acids that serve as a rapidly available source of energy

MCT Oil is a source of fat in the form of medium-chain fatty acids (Medium Chain Triglycerides). Compared to longer-chain fats, these are digested more quickly. Additionally, they can be quickly transformed by the body into a source of energy. These properties are what make it popular among athletes who wish to preserve muscular glycogen reserves and favour consuming energy from fats rather than carbohydrates.

This MCT oil comes from Guinea oilseed, which is why it contains a wide range of medium-chain fatty acids. These include caproic, caprylic, capric, lauric and myristic acids. It is thus a complex source of MCT fats.

MCT oil is also popular among people who have low intake of carbohydrates. It happens commonly on the keto, low-carb, or paleo diets. You can consume the product on its own or with food. For example, it can be added to salads or porridge.
