En wat als we je zouden vertellen dat je deze kunt verlagen door middel van voeding? Een nieuwe studie, gepubliceerd in het gerenommeerde tijdschrift <em>Nature Aging<\/em>, levert bewijs en manieren om dit te bereiken.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wetenschappers_Onderzochten_Manieren_om_Veroudering_te_Vertragen\"><\/span>Wetenschappers Onderzochten Manieren om Veroudering te Vertragen<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Wetenschappers van Zwitserse en andere universiteiten wereldwijd hebben onderzocht hoe omega-3 vetzuren, vitamine D en <a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.nl\/blog\/exercises-and-workouts-nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oefening<\/a> de snelheid van veroudering in het lichaam be\u00efnvloeden.\nDit onderzoek maakt deel uit van de uitgebreide Europese klinische studie DO-HEALTH, die aantoonde dat het innemen van <strong>vitamine D<\/strong> en <strong>omega-3 vetzuren<\/strong> in combinatie met <strong>regelmatige krachttraining<\/strong> leidt tot een lager risico op <strong>infecties, valpartijen<\/strong> en zelfs <strong>kanker bij ouderen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>Deze resultaten hebben wetenschappers ge\u00efnspireerd om hun onderzoek nog verder te ontwikkelen.\nZe onderzochten hoe deze drie factoren invloed hebben op <strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.nl\/blog\/?p=754272\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>veroudering van het DNA<\/strong><\/a>, en daardoor, <strong>het gehele organisme.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1124\" height=\"749\" src=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/SI_Valerija-Slapnik_052025_21-1124x749.jpg\" alt=\"Het effect van omega-3 vetzuren, vitamine D en lichaamsbeweging op het vertragen van het verouderingsproces\" class=\"wp-image-736579\" title=\"Het effect van omega-3 vetzuren, vitamine D en lichaamsbeweging op het vertragen van het verouderingsproces\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/SI_Valerija-Slapnik_052025_21-1124x749.jpg 1124w, https:\/\/gymbeam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/SI_Valerija-Slapnik_052025_21-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/gymbeam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/SI_Valerija-Slapnik_052025_21-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/gymbeam.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/SI_Valerija-Slapnik_052025_21-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1124px) 100vw, 1124px\" \/><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hoe_hebben_ze_de_impact_van_omega-3_vetzuren_vitamine_D_en_lichaamsbeweging_op_de_levensduur_gemeten\"><\/span>Hoe hebben ze de impact van omega-3 vetzuren, vitamine D en lichaamsbeweging op de levensduur gemeten?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Het DO-HEALTH Bio-Age onderzoek omvatte <strong>777 Zwitserse senioren<\/strong> in goede conditie, <strong>ouder dan 70 jaar.<\/strong> Zij ondergingen een <strong>DNA-analyse<\/strong> aan het begin van de monitoring en vervolgens aan het einde, <strong>na drie jaar.<\/strong> Veranderingen in het verouderingsproces werden gemeten met zogenaamde <strong>epigenetische klokken,<\/strong> geavanceerde DNA-tests die de <strong>biologische leeftijd<\/strong> en **<a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.nl\/blog\/?p=754285\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>verouderingssnelheid.<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> meten.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<p>Deelnemers kregen ofwel een placebo, of een van <strong>deze interventies<\/strong> gedurende drie jaar.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ze namen dagelijks <strong>2000 IE vitamine D<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Ze kregen <strong>1 gram omega-3 vetzuren<\/strong> (330 mg EPA en 660 mg DHA).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drie keer per week<\/strong>, gedurende <strong>30 minuten<\/strong>, deden ze <strong>lichte krachttraining thuis.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wat_hebben_ze_ontdekt\"><\/span>Wat hebben ze ontdekt?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>De tweede DNA-analyse, na drie jaar van lichaamsbeweging en het innemen van supplementen, bracht interessante resultaten voort.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Omega-3 vetzuren<\/strong> bleken de <strong>beste speler in de strijd tegen veroudering<\/strong> te zijn van de drie benaderingen. Hun effect op het vertragen van veroudering werd bevestigd door drie van de vier epigenetische klokken. <\/li>\n<li>Het grootste effect was bij mensen met <strong>initieel lage niveaus van omega-3 vetzuren in hun bloed.<\/strong> Dit wijst erop dat we allemaal individuen zijn en dat voedingsstoffen verschillende effecten op ons kunnen hebben, bijvoorbeeld afhankelijk van onze reserves.<\/li>\n<li><strong>De combinatie van omega-3, vitamine D<\/strong> en <strong>beweging<\/strong>, bracht <strong>nog betere resultaten.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Over het algemeen bleek dat alle interventies gedurende de drie jaar een gemiddelde vertraging in biologische veroudering veroorzaakten van <strong>2,9 tot 3,8 maanden<\/strong> in vergelijking met de verwachte snelheid. Met andere woorden, de lichamen van de deelnemers <strong>verouderden gemiddeld bijna 4 maanden minder<\/strong> gedurende de gehele drie jaar dan verwacht zou worden zonder deze interventies. <strong>Omega-3 vetzuren<\/strong> droegen het meest bij aan deze vertraging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Waarom_zou_u_zich_zorgen_moeten_maken\"><\/span>Waarom zou u zich zorgen moeten maken?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hoewel het onderzoek zich richtte op ouderen, is de boodschap universeel.
