To uglavnom dugujemo napretku medicine koji nam je omogu\u0107io da pobijedimo mnoge zarazne bolesti. Napredak u dijagnostici i lije\u010denju omogu\u0107io nam je da dosegnemo sve stariju \u017eivotnu dob, koju danas uzimamo zdravo za gotovo. Osim suvremene medicine, dugovje\u010dnosti pridonose i spoznaje o tome kako <strong>zdrav na\u010din \u017eivota<\/strong> usporava starenje i pobolj\u0161ava kvalitetu \u017eivota tako\u0111er <strong>doprinosi dugovje\u010dnosti.<\/strong> \u010cesto spominjan koncept u mainstream znanosti su <strong>telomeri<\/strong> koji se \u010dine korisnim <strong>pokazateljem dugovje\u010dnosti.<\/strong> Za\u0161to je to tako i je li to doista najbolji pokazatelj? Odgovore \u0107ete prona\u0107i u ovom \u010dlanku.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sto_su_telomeri_i_kako_funkcioniraju\"><\/span>\u0160to su telomeri i kako funkcioniraju?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Telomeri su <strong>su krajnji dijelovi DNK<\/strong>. Za razliku od bakterija, ljudska DNK je linearna &#8211; ima po\u010detak i kraj. Organiziran je u 23 para kromosoma, a svaki od njih na svojim krajevima ima telomere koje mo\u017eemo zamisliti kao <strong>za\u0161titne kapice<\/strong>. Svaka vrsta ima specifi\u010dne sekvence telomerne DNK koje se ponavljaju vi\u0161e puta. Ovo ponavljanje omogu\u0107uje stvaranje specijalizirane strukture koja <strong>\u0161titi na\u0161e kromosome od skra\u0107ivanja.<\/strong>        <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Telomeri <strong>se skra\u0107uju<\/strong> sa svakom diobom stanica. Taj se proces odvija kontinuirano jer na\u0161e tijelo stalno treba reciklirati stare stanice i <strong>regenerirati<\/strong> na na\u010din da stvara nove, mlade stanice. Svaki put kad se stanica podijeli, dolazi do replikacije (kopiranja) DNK. Me\u0111utim, kopiranje dvolan\u010dane DNA predstavlja izazov za stanice. Ove niti idu u suprotnim smjerovima, ali enzimi odgovorni za kopiranje DNK <strong>rade samo u jednom smjeru<\/strong>. To zna\u010di da je broj dioba stanica ograni\u010den duljinom telomera. Jednom kada telomeri postanu prekratki, stanica se vi\u0161e ne mo\u017ee dijeliti\u2014<strong>ona stari i na kraju umire<\/strong>. <strong>Stoga duljina telomera mo\u017ee poslu\u017eiti kao koristan pokazatelj stani\u010dnog starenja.<\/strong> Jedine stanice koje ne do\u017eivljavaju skra\u0107ivanje telomera su mati\u010dne stanice i stanice raka. One posjeduju aktivni enzim (telomerazu) koji mo\u017ee <strong>produ\u017eiti <\/strong> telomere, dopu\u0161taju\u0107i im da se dijele na <strong>neodre\u0111eno vrijeme<\/strong> osim ako drugi \u010dimbenici, poput mehani\u010dkih ili drugih vrsta o\u0161te\u0107enja, ne interveniraju. <sup><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">[1]<\/span><\/mark><\/sup>       <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Me\u0111utim, podaci nisu uvijek jasni. Duljina telomera ne ovisi samo o dobi u kojoj se mjeri nego i o  <strong>vrsti stanica, genetici i na\u010dinu \u017eivota. Ubrzano skra\u0107ivanje telomera  <\/strong>povezano je sa zna\u010dajno ve\u0107im rizikom od bolesti poput kardiovaskularnih bolesti, dijabetesa, odre\u0111enih vrsta raka i osteoporoze. To je proces koji se ne mo\u017ee u potpunosti izbje\u0107i. Me\u0111utim, odre\u0111eni <strong>faktori<\/strong> mogu na njih utjecati na pozitivan i negativan na\u010din.   <strong> <\/strong>Faktori koji <strong>ubrzavaju skra\u0107ivanje telomera<\/strong> \u010desto su povezani s oksidativnim stresom i upalom<sup><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">[2]<\/span><\/mark><\/sup>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pu\u0161enje<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/sto-se-dogada-s-vasim-tijelom-kad-ne-spavate-dovoljno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nedovoljno spavanja <br><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nedostatak tjelesne aktivnosti <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/kako-geni-utjecu-na-vasu-tjelesnu-tezinu-i-sklonost-pretilosti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pretilost<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/7-savjeta-kako-smanjiti-visokopreradenu-hranu-u-vasoj-prehrani-i-jesti-zdravije\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Konzumacija visoko prera\u0111ene hrane<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/zasto-je-stres-opasan-i-kako-ga-smanjiti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stres<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Iz perspektive dugovje\u010dnosti i zdravlja, <strong>mo\u017eemo usporiti skra\u0107ivanje telomera.<\/strong> Svaki oblik tjelesne aktivnosti povezan je s duljim telomerima. Bilo da su studije usmjerene na trening snage ili aerobne aktivnosti (kao \u0161to je <a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/kako-poceti-trcati-jednostavan-vodic-za-potpune-pocetnike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tr\u010danje<\/a>), fizi\u010dki aktivni pojedinci dosljedno pokazuju zna\u010dajno bolji status telomerne DNK, \u0161to odgovara <strong>manjem riziku<\/strong> od kroni\u010dnih bolesti i preranog starenja  <sup><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\">[3 \u2013 4]<\/mark><\/sup>. Iako ne mo\u017eemo zaustaviti protok vremena i samo starenje, <strong>svakako ga mo\u017eemo usporiti<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Koji_drugi_cimbenici_utjecu_na_dugovjecnost\"><\/span>Koji drugi \u010dimbenici utje\u010du na dugovje\u010dnost?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Iako <strong>duljina telomera<\/strong> ukazuje na starenje stanice, to nije jedina odrednica dugovje\u010dnosti. Mo\u017ee sugerirati ubrzano starenje, ali mo\u017ee odra\u017eavati i <strong>posljedice nezdravog na\u010dina \u017eivota.<\/strong> Dugovje\u010dnost je multifaktorijalna, \u0161to zna\u010di da na nju utje\u010de \u0161irok raspon varijabli. Jedan od najja\u010dih \u010dimbenika koji utje\u010du na dugovje\u010dnost je <strong>stil \u017eivota<\/strong>, koji utje\u010de ne samo na duljinu telomera ve\u0107 i na dugoro\u010dno funkcioniranje cijelog tijela.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Osim na\u010dina \u017eivota, <strong>genetika<\/strong> tako\u0111er igra ulogu u zdravlju i dugovje\u010dnosti. Bilo da se radi o predispoziciji za odre\u0111ene bolesti ili inherentnoj sposobnosti duljeg \u017eivota, genetski \u010dimbenici se ne mogu zanemariti. Me\u0111utim, na njih se mo\u017ee utjecati <strong>izborom na\u010dina \u017eivota<\/strong>, konceptom poznatim kao <strong>epigenetika<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Rizik od kroni\u010dnih bolesti i ni\u017ee kvalitete \u017eivota tako\u0111er je povezan sa zdravljem <a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/sto-je-mikrobiom-i-kako-zdravlje-crijeva-moze-utjecati-na-vasu-fizicku-i-mentalnu-kondiciju\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crijevnog mikrobioma<\/a>. Crijevni mikrobiom zna\u010dajno utje\u010de na funkciju imunolo\u0161kog sustava, pa \u010dak i na aktivnost mozga. Zdrav crijevni mikrobiom povezan je s manjom u\u010destalo\u0161\u0107u kroni\u010dnih bolesti u rasponu <strong>od dijabetesa do depresije.<\/strong>    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gymbeam.hr\/blog\/anti-ageing-i-zdravo-starenje-kako-se-brinuti-za-svoje-tijelo-i-ocuvati-zdravlje-i-mladenacki-izgled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dug i kvalitetan \u017eivot<\/a> ne ovisi samo o fizi\u010dkom zdravlju, ve\u0107 io psihi\u010dkoj dobrobiti i \u010dvrstim dru\u0161tvenim vezama.
