Te celice so razporejene prakti\u010dno povsod po telesu, glede na njihovo lokacijo pa lahko ma\u0161\u010dobo razdelimo na <strong>podko\u017eno in visceralno.<\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\"> <sup>[1]<\/sup><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Podko\u017ena <\/strong>je tista, ki jo vidite na prvi pogled in se je posku\u0161ate najprej znebiti.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Visceralna ma\u0161\u010doba<\/strong> se nahaja okoli organov, njena naloga pa je mehanska za\u0161\u010dita organov, uravnavanje presnove in ravni hormonov. Je tudi vir snovi, ki sodelujejo pri uravnavanju imunskega sistema.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ma\u0161\u010dobno tkivo lahko razvrstimo tudi glede na njegovo sposobnost ustvarjanja toplote (termogeneze). Najpogostej\u0161e <strong>ma\u0161\u010dobno tkivo je belo <\/strong>in deluje kot zaloga energije. Adipociti belega ma\u0161\u010dobnega tkiva ne vsebujejo velikega \u0161tevila mitohondrijev, zato v njih ne poteka izgorevanje energije. So prakti\u010dno v celoti zapolnjeni z velikim rezervoarjem ma\u0161\u010dobe &#8211; vakuolami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Na drugi strani je<strong> rjavo ma\u0161\u010dobno tkivo,<\/strong> ki porablja energijo in skrbi za proizvodnjo toplote pri vseh sesalcih. Energija ne more kar tako izginiti, zato se shrani kot ma\u0161\u010doba v ma\u0161\u010dobnih celicah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0160tevilo ma\u0161\u010dobnih celic se pove\u010da zlasti v otro\u0161tvu in adolescenci. Pozneje v odrasli dobi je \u0161tevilo ma\u0161\u010dobnih celic fiksno in se spreminja s pridobivanjem in izgubljanjem telesne te\u017ee. To se dogaja do to\u010dke, ko se ne morejo ve\u010d pove\u010devati in je treba ustvariti nove celice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pove\u010danje adipocitov<\/strong> zaradi prekomernega shranjevanja ma\u0161\u010dob se tako kot pri mi\u0161icah imenuje <strong>hipertrofija.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nastajanje <strong>novih adipocitov <\/strong>imenujemo <strong>hiperplazija.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hipertrofija<\/strong> adipocitov mo\u010dno vpliva na njihovo delovanje in je zna\u010dilna za visceralno ma\u0161\u010dobno tkivo. V skrajnih primerih imajo debeli ljudje lahko tudi do dvakrat ve\u010d ma\u0161\u010dobnih celic. \u010ce shuj\u0161ajo, se to \u0161tevilo ne spremeni. Z drugimi besedami, prekomerna telesna te\u017ea in debelost spremenita regulacijo genov v ma\u0161\u010dobnih celicah.
