U\u017eivali so ga ne le ob obrokih \u2013 saj je bila voda pogosto onesna\u017eena \u2013 ampak tudi kot klju\u010dni del praznovanj. <strong>Danes alkohol ostaja osrednji del dru\u017eabnih dogodkov.<\/strong> Postal je tako obi\u010dajen, da se tisti, ki se mu odpovejo, pogosto zdijo nenavadni. Kljub temu pa ostaja resnica, da je alkohol po mnogih merilih ena najbolj \u0161kodljivih <strong>snovi<\/strong>. <strong>\u0160kodi ne le telesnemu in du\u0161evnemu zdravju<\/strong> tistega, ki ga u\u017eiva, temve\u010d vpliva tudi na ljudi okoli njega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Alkohol_je_droga\"><\/span>Alkohol je droga<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kljub temu, da je alkohol \u0161iroko dostopen v trgovinah, je \u0161e vedno razvr\u0161\u010den kot droga. Klju\u010dna sestavina, odgovorna za njegove u\u010dinke, je <strong>etanol.<\/strong> Te\u017eava pri etanolu je v na\u010dinu njegovega delovanja. Ve\u010dina drugih drog bodisi posnema snovi, ki jih najdemo v mo\u017eganih (kot so opiati), bodisi deluje na specifi\u010dne receptorje v mo\u017eganih (na primer THC). Etanol pa je majhna molekula, ki lahko <strong>prehaja skozi celi\u010dne membrane in vpliva na delovanje celic od znotraj.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Natan\u010den mehanizem delovanja etanola \u0161e ni povsem jasen. Zaradi svoje majhnosti se etanol po telesu \u0161iri z difuzijo in zlahka dose\u017ee razli\u010dne dele telesa. Nekdaj so verjeli, da so njegovi u\u010dinki na centralni \u017eiv\u010dni sistem (C\u017dS) nespecifi\u010dni. Danes poznamo <strong>ve\u010d kot 20 mo\u017enih mest delovanja v mo\u017eganih,<\/strong> vklju\u010dno z njegovimi u\u010dinki na GABA receptorje, serotonin in dopaminske sisteme ter celo opioidne receptorje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ve\u010d kot 90% zau\u017eitega etanola se presnovi, preostanek pa se izlo\u010di skozi urin, znoj in dih. Po zau\u017eitju etanol iz prebavil preide v krvni obtok in se prenese v jetra. <strong>Tudi ena sama pija\u010da<\/strong> (0,04 litra \u017eganja, pivo ali kozarec vina) lahko <strong>obremeni jetra<\/strong> in njihovo sposobnost presnavljanja etanola. Posledi\u010dno etanol dlje \u010dasa ostane v telesu in <strong>vpliva ne le na mo\u017egane,<\/strong> temve\u010d tudi na vse druge organe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>V jetrih se etanol s pomo\u010djo encima alkohol dehidrogenaze razgradi v acetaldehid. Acetaldehid je toksi\u010den in rakotvoren, zato ga drugi encim, acetaldehid dehidrogenaza, hitro pretvori v acetat (ionsko obliko ocetne kisline), ki je le rahlo toksi\u010den in se lahko uporablja kot alternativni vir energije. V nekaterih primerih ima zaviralni u\u010dinek, v drugih pa spodbuja prenos signalov v mo\u017eganih, kar prispeva k splo\u0161nemu neravnovesju in motnjam v delovanju centralnega \u017eiv\u010dnega sistema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Tako kot vsaka droga tudi etanol \u0161koduje mo\u017eganom. Med legalnimi in nelegalnimi snovmi je etanol ena najbolj \u0161kodljivih glede na <strong>propadanje mo\u017eganskih celic. Prav tako upo\u010dasnjuje nevrogenezo in nevroplasti\u010dnost<\/strong> \u2013 tvorbo novih povezav med mo\u017eganskimi celicami.<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/mark> Poleg tega lahko etanol spro\u017ei programirano celi\u010dno smrt (apoptozo).<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-orange-color\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0160tudija iz leta 2022, ki je vklju\u010devala ve\u010d kot 39.000 udele\u017eencev, je pokazala, da \u017ee eno majhno pivo na dan povzro\u010di znatno kr\u010denje mo\u017eganov in pospe\u0161eno staranje mo\u017eganov. Jetra se trudijo presnavljati alkohol v manj \u0161kodljive snovi, vendar imajo omejeno kapaciteto, ki jo je mogo\u010de hitro prese\u010di. Pogosto preobremenjevanje jeter vodi v po\u0161kodbe in s\u010dasoma v cirozo.
