Ta m\u00e1 p\u016fvod v oblasti Sibi\u0159e, kde si m\u00edstn\u00ed obyvatel\u00e9 nejsp\u00ed\u0161 jako prvn\u00ed v\u0161imli jejich blahod\u00e1rn\u00fdch \u00fa\u010dink\u016f na fyzick\u00e9 i psychick\u00e9 zdrav\u00ed. Ekdysteron najdeme v mal\u00e9m mno\u017estv\u00ed i v b\u011b\u017en\u00fdch potravin\u00e1ch, jako je \u0161pen\u00e1t nebo quinoa. <strong>Pat\u0159\u00ed mezi ekdysteroidn\u00ed hormony, kter\u00e9 podporuj\u00ed r\u016fst rostlin nebo hmyzu, d\u00edky \u010demu\u017e jsou pova\u017eov\u00e1ny za anabolick\u00e9 l\u00e1tky.<\/strong> Svou strukturou p\u0159ipom\u00ednaj\u00ed androgeny, a proto jsou mezi sportovci popul\u00e1rn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00ed n\u00e1hradou steroid\u016f.
