Poga\u0111a najmanje <strong>7% odraslih \u017eena<\/strong>, a istra\u017eivanje pokazuje da <strong>5% do 10%<\/strong> \u017eena, u dobi <strong>od 18 do 44<\/strong> godine u <strong>Sjedinjenim Ameri\u010dkim Dr\u017eavama<\/strong> mo\u017ee patiti od sindroma. Mnogo zastra\u0161uju\u0107a \u010dinjenica je da je globalna <strong>u\u010destalost PCPS-a promjenjiva,<\/strong> a njegove vrijednosti mogu biti<strong> izme\u0111u 2,2% i 26%. <\/strong>Istra\u017eivanje <strong>iz 2012<\/strong>. godine, pokazuje \u010dinjenicu da mnoge \u017eene \u017eive s ovim sindromom bez dijagnoze. Neke \u017eene koje pate od ovog sindroma imaju<strong> ciste na jajnicima<\/strong>. Me\u0111utim, ime <strong>dijelom<\/strong> mo\u017ee biti <strong>zavaravaju\u0107e<\/strong>, jer <strong>mnoge \u017eene s PCOS-om nemaju ciste<\/strong>. F. Stein i M. Leventhal<\/strong> prijeko oko 80 godina, u djelu nazvanom Amenoreja povezana s policisti\u010dkim jajnicima. Opisan je kao oligo-amenoreja i sindrom policisti\u010dkih jajnika, koji su varijabilno povezani s <strong>pretilo\u0161\u0107u, aknama i hirzutizmom<\/strong>, tj. pretjerana dlakavost, na primjer na licu. Sindromom se stru\u010dnjaci bave dugi niz godina, ali trenutno se mogu lije\u010diti samo njegovi simptomi. <span style=\"color:#ff6600\" class=\"tadv-color\">[9] [10] [11]<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Simptomi_PCOS-a\"><\/span>Simptomi PCOS-a&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">PCOS ima nekoliko simptoma koji mogu<strong> ukazati na njegovu prisutnost<\/strong>. Mogu se pojaviti <strong>tijekom prve menstruacije u pubertetu<\/strong>, ali to nije pravilo. PCOS se tako\u0111er mo\u017ee <strong>razviti kasnije<\/strong>, primjerice <strong>debljanjem<\/strong>. Simptomi PCOS-a trebaju biti poznati \u017eenama svih dobnih skupina, kako bi se mogao rano dijagnosticirati. Sam pojam se odnosi na <strong>poja\u010danu sekreciju androgena<\/strong> &#8211; mu\u0161ki spolni hormon. Ovaj simptom se manifestira <strong>vi\u0161om razinom testosterona i androstendiona<\/strong>, kada se mjeri u laboratoriju. Klini\u010dki pregled otkriva <strong>akne, hirzutizam, crnu akantozu (Acanthosis nigricans), ko\u017enu bolest<\/strong> i <strong>androgenetsku&nbsp;alopeciju<\/strong>&nbsp;(oblik gubitka kose). m<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">anifestacije ovog tipa su <\/span><strong><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">hiperandrogenizam, kroni\u010dna anovulacija, <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\">ali<\/span><strong><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\" lang=\"en\"> normalni jajnici. <\/span><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Neklasi\u010dni ovulacijski PCOS &#8211;<\/strong> razlika izme\u0111u prethodnih tipova je u tome \u0161to su manifestacije<strong> hiperandrogenizam, policisti\u010dni jajnici,<\/strong> ali <strong>redoviti menstrualni ciklus.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Neklasi\u010dni blagi ili normoandrogeni PCOS &#8211; PCOS<\/strong> je povezan s <strong>nesposobno\u0161\u0107u normalne proizvodnje jajnih stanica<\/strong>, a znanstvenici vjeruju da <strong>vi\u0161a razina androgena<\/strong> uzrokuje ove probleme. Jedan od razloga \u0161irenja PCOS-a mo\u017ee biti <strong>genetska predispozicija.<\/strong> Drugi razlog, prema znanstvenicima je vi\u0161a<strong> razina androgenih hormona<\/strong> povezanih s <strong>prekomjernom upalom<\/strong>. Iz tog razloga, \u017eene koje pate od PCOS-a nailaze na <strong>poja\u010danu upalu<\/strong> u tijelu.
